Application Instructions for New and Existing Applicants

You must have
Adobe Reader 5.0 or higher on
your computer to use this online application. If you do not have Adobe
Reader, you can download the program for free. Just click on the icon
below.

When you open the online
application, a pop-up window will ask “Do you want to open or save this
file?” Select Open.

This is a secure website. Your information will remain private and confidential.

Do not
print and mail the
online
application. It is for
online
submission only.

If you are updating
an existing application,
you must still fill out all fields including your
Waiting
List
selections.
Your
original date and time will not change when you update your information.

Applicant must be 18 years
of age or older at the time eligibility is determined.

All fields marked on the
application with an
*
are required fields and must be completed for your application to be
processed.

Date fields must be entered
in the following format: mm/dd/yyyy with 4 digit years including /
marks. For example: 12/11/1985
-
Social security numbers are
entered as only numbers. The dashes (-) will be display automatically.
For example,
the number 999-12-1111 would be entered as 999121111.
If you are updating your
information, and you do not have a valid Social Security number, please use
the previously assigned temporary identification number given to you when
you first applied.
- Phone
numbers are entered as only numbers and include the area code. For
example,
(619) 555-9292 would be entered as 6195559292.

Submit the form to complete your application.
Response time
You will receive a
confirmation postcard within
14 days of submitting your
online application or update information.
Due to the high
demand for housing assistance in San Diego, along with the scarcity of program
funding, there is a long waiting period for assistance (estimated at five to
seven years).
