Applying for a voucher means getting on a waiting list, which in San Diego numbers more than 27,316 households. The average wait to obtain a Housing Choice voucher is eight to ten years.

Updating Your Application

While on the waiting list, you must notify the San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) in writing within two weeks of a any change in address or the number of members in your family. If you don’t update your information, you may lose your place on the waiting list.

To report a change in your address, please click on the link below "Go to Update Now."

Note: When you update your information using the online application, you must complete the entire application.
