Housing Rehabilitation Programs

Since 1979, the Housing Commission has helped more than 11,000 San Diego property owners finance renovations that made their homes safer and more attractive.

When funding is available, the Commission provides financial and project management assistance for a variety of renovations and repairs.

Grants and loans target projects in these categories:

Owner occupied properties city wide as well as in targeted redevelopment areas;
Removal or neutralizing toxic lead paint at homes frequented by children six years old or younger;
Accessibility improvements for persons with disabilities;
Safety improvements for owners of mobile homes.

Summary of Rehabilitation Programs

Note: Funding for some rehabilitation programs is limited and there may be a waiting list of applicants. Only properties located within the boundaries of the City of San Diego are eligible.
